a year by the beach

A year ago we moved to our dream house on the water and found life here to be completely different from the cookie-cutter suburbia we left. The kids swim, fish and kayak right form the backyard every single day. There is always an ocean breeze, even on the hottest day and none of my windows even have screens on them! We see sea planes, helicopters, and parasailers flying above and we also watch manatees, dolphins, starfish and a host of sea birds and fish doing their thing right here. It’s pretty fantastic!  One of my favorite things is to take a walk after dinner and watch the ocean as the sun sets. The sound and the smell of the waves simply was away every care of the day…it’s paradise.

what a difference a month makes

The boys made these three raised garden beds in the backyard and filled in the spaces between with slate gravel. They planted a kitchen garden and in only a month….we have an explosion of veggies! These radishes were the first to come up for harvest, only 30 days from seed to eating!

Mr. Busy

I love seeing this little dude and his lovely mama…I have been photographing Mr. Luke since he was in the belly! Today we met at the studio and walked around downtown, stopping to look at boats, a big crane, and our reflection in windows…it was a great workout!!

three sisters

I have documented these three sisters with portraits over the years and it is usually in April when they visit Palm Beach from their home in southern California. I love how they each look so different, you you still know they are sisters, and each has her own completely unique personality. Thanks to their mom and dad for bringing them to the studio this year to capture a whole round of changes and smiles!

a Florida farm

We stopped by D & D Farms in Martin county over the weekend and had a blast feeding the animals, picking delicious ripe strawberries and veggies and just wandering through the fields. If you are local, it’s a fun day trip!
