I was thrilled to meet little Graydon today, on his vacation here in Florida. I photographed his mom and dad for the first time about five years ago…you can see one of their wall portraits in the second image. They had a gorgeous wedding and it was my first published feature in a national magazine, so I will always remember them fondly. It was so much fun for me to hang out with his family in Jupiter Island today; nice to catch up and reconnect. I’m looking forward to watching this handsome guy grow up!

I don’t often photograph three month old babies…usually newborns, then 6-7 month olds who are sitting up, then 1 year olds who are beginning walkers. But, Baby Mia *just* moved here from Ohio a couple of days ago, so I had to wait to meet her. It was nice to get a different age and she was much more mellow than most newborns and a lot chubbier too! Thanks to Dakota the Boxer who let me get my new favorite dog + baby shot…these are the toughest portraits for me to get~

I have leftovers in my fridge older than this guy….

Only a great client like Jett’s mama would be sure that I got her newest little guy when he was this fresh…only 3 days old! The first 7 days is the BEST time to photograph newborns…they are all sleepy, mellow and completely flexible. After 10 days, babies will start waking up and (trust me!) do not want to be bothered with too much. Boy do I love me some fresh babies…and sweet big brothers too, like Jack.

Miss Lila came by my house this weekend with her mama for some six month old portraits. I have to say, I really like shooting at home sometimes….I need to do this more often!

Nicholas and Sophia came by today sporting their Sunday best. I bought this old hide covered chair at an estate sale and was thrilled to finally be able to drag it outside for a shoot! These two were great together and did a fab job working for lollipops too~

I love how the trees look in these images…sort of like we are far away from the heat of Florida! I never shoot at my home but this weekend, I needed a break and wanted to use some of my own “stuff” for sessions. So, for the next few blog posts, you will get a peek into my world~ I think I would like to do this more often…gives me a great excuse to go shopping!

This is my last travel session, beautiful sisters Halle and Riley are featured today and I am caught up from last week, finally!

I do want to make sure I post the holiday deadlines too, since next week is Thanksgiving and we are slammed with holiday orders. Here’s all the information you will need:

November 30th: last day to place & pay for orders for holidays with no rush fees

December 1nd-December 10th: 50% rush fee for paid orders needed for holiday delivery

December 11th-19th: 100% rush fee for paid orders needed for holiday delivery

The studio will close as usual for holiday vacation from December 19th through January 24th. We will reopen on January 25th~

My second favorite age to photograph, after to 1 week old babies, is 6-8 months old. Like Graham here, babies are full of personality, nice and chubby, but cannot yet crawl or run away from me…just perfectly content looking at the camera and interacting with lots of smiles and laughs. This stage goes quickly too…once they get mobile, babies never slow down again!

I have been photographing Stella a lot since she was born and her mom is great at recording all of her milestones with portraits and decorating her beautiful home with this art of family. This will be my last shoot with Stella as an only child…she is about to become a big sister very soon. Do you think the baby will be wearing Converse too? I’m thinking she will…

Olivia, Trace, and Crew looked so good for their session today…I’m thinking everyone who was watching them thought they were models. And, check out those shoes!!! I am starting to feel like all my clients are pulling a prank on me wearing green Converse~
