LHP new site & news

My new portrait site is finally 100% finished…I invite you to take a peek right here.

Creating a new site takes so much time and lots of support, but a must for photographers who want to stay current…I LOVE seeing fresh images and I know my clients appreciate the effort too.

After all that hard work, I am now officially on vacation out of the country, but do not fear…the studio will still be opened, just call or email if you need us. I will return next Saturday and then be off to teach at the learnfest in Atlanta for a few days…and finally back in the studio April 13th. See you soon!

mummy's boy

I told this new mama that I was so jealous that her new guy, Leo, will one day call her “mummy” since she is British…I just love all versions of mum! Leo is one month old but was SO good for our session…totally mellow and as cool as a one week old and I definitely appreciated that very much. This was a travel session for me and my last one for a few weeks.

home away from home

More boys! I have been photographing Charlie since he was a newborn…and now he is in serious big brother mode! Little brother Casey is super mellow and happy (like many little brothers are…) and a go-with-the-flow type. Both boys travelled a long way for their shoot…dad, who is a baseball player, was traded to a team in the northeast and these guys came a long way for some new portraits! It was great to see Casey again…the last time I saw him he was just a little peanut!

gallery show

A couple of weeks ago I had a show of my fine art images at Nicole Henry Fine Arts, a stunning gallery in Palm Beach Gardens owned by a client and close friend of mine. I snapped a couple of images of some of my botanicals and a few other pieces I love, such as this giant bronze tulip and the beautiful mixed media work of artist Nina Surrell (who I adore!). Sushi is by Sushi Jo *wink*.

about to become a big brother

I had a lovely shoot this morning at a home that was beyond visually inspiring….I tried to incorporate some of my favorite modern master’s in the shots…but there were just too many and the family (my main focus), just too beautiful! I wanted to post a sneak peek, but there are just so many to choose from…here are a few of my initial favorites.

one more from my crib

These were some test images for DesignAglow on gallery wrap canvas and now sit on a ledge in my breakfast area. This collection includes images of trips to Nantucket, Ponte Vedra, and Rosemary Beach…lots of good family memories.

my own wall

I just had this canvas wall gallery hung in a niche of my hallway, over a long console and I LOVE how it looks! I’ve been dreaming of hanging gallery wrapped canvases with their sides touching to create something with modern impact. Here I have three 12×16’s, two 16×26’s. (Images are of my husband and I by my talented friend Jesh De Rox)

you can lead the way…..

Huge Dora the Explorer fans here…and it *is* pretty funny when three grown-ups all vying for smiles are singing the theme song! Besides knowing the hottest toddler tracks, I am super proud of myself for blogging seven days in a row despite a crazy busy month for portraits. Now, I am going out for my afternoon vanilla latte. Cheers!

party in the new playhouse

I forgot just how exciting a brand new playhouse in the backyard can be! It always cracks me up how little ones love to imitate household chores like washing dishes, vacuuming, and cooking. I wish that love carried over into adulthood….how happy would we all be?

separate but equal

Sometimes, no matter how much patience or candy, or how many pink balloons you have….no matter how important it is to us…the kids would prefer to be photographed separately. I know how coveted that perfect “together” shot is. It escaped me, just slightly outside my grasp, for the first three years with my own kids. I totally relate. Thank goodness I have the coolest clients too…who can appreciate separate too.
