sticks and snails and puppy dog tails?

These three are ALL boy…rough and tumble, silly, and amazed by the few trucks and trains we saw during our short session! Their mom is one of my favorite people too; I actually shot her wedding before these little men came along and just before I retired from weddings. I think this is way more fun! Can you tell? *wink*

baby announcements

It seems we have had a newborn explosion this year…lots of girls too! We have been busy creating lots of pink announcements like this one for Miss Elizabeth. The cards are 5×7, on linen stock, with endless possibilities in design and print. We really love to create baby’s first social stationery!

a little piece of Reese

Baby Reese was born weighing 10 pounds and measuring 22 1/2 inches tall! But even more amazing than that is her rock star hair…this hair sticks straight up too, no products required! I have never seen anything like it either…too cute!

I'm really here….really

I am sorry for not posting in a while…I have been sick, really sick. Actually, my whole family and most of the people I know have been sick too. Not fun! I promise I will be taking my vitamins much more regularly now.

Thought I should post a couple of images of two of my Valentine’s for you. I hope you can feel the love and the fun we share together. Being a photographer is awesome, but being the mom of these two amazing little men is truly the sweetest part of my life.

Happy V Day to all of you and yours! All chocolate is calorie-free on 2/14, so live it up!

I hope you will take a peek at my new portrait site at lenahyde.com and let me know what you think. I love change!

And one of my super hunk-of-a-man (no, I did no coin that phrase but I like it) and me at the beach here in Jupiter, Florida. After 20 years together, he knows better than to bring me a dozen red roses…actually he knows most of my gift preferences by now and is my number one supporter and is a better mama than me. Since I work so much and am often travelling for work, my firefighter hubby takes on all the cooking, shopping, house maintenance, and homework duty. Yep, he is pretty great.

the road less traveled

It was my coldest shoot in Florida in the last 8 years…I mean, a sweater, jacket AND a hat. Crazy! But, I warmed up quickly with this amazing family, because of the love and support they have for each other and because certain family members had their own plans…for exploration and straight-out, unbridled running!

When I shoot, I always let the kids lead…sure, I do a little persuasive setting up of people in attractive places and some suggest things to do or say, but for the most part, I record the personalities and the natural interactions in the moment. These guys gave me lots of variety and a nice break from my own reality for an hour this morning.

I love my job!

little dreamer

I have not seen Maverick since his newborn shoot…and wow, has he grown into a big, happy guy. He came for a visit with his rock star wardrobe (including the smallest silver pumas I have ever seen!) and a go-getter attitude…Mav, we think you are one cool baby!

little sister

Charles’ little sister Mia arrived last week and I was happy to work with his sweet family again in this stunning natural light filled home. I have been having some kids with pretty amazing hair lately too, check out big brother’s style!

four day old work of art

One of my very BFFs, Nicole, just had her 2nd baby…Miss Elizabeth. Nic was one of my favorite clients when her son was born three years ago and we became close and have since worked (and played) a lot together! Nicole is an art historian too and owns a stunning art gallery here in town filled with the best of contemporary art…but I think this newest creation is absolutely the most beautiful~
