Spent the day building sugar white sand castles, playing like crazy, and kite flying at the beach today. Yeah, life is good.

I think I found my own personal heaven on earth today…it is called Alys Beach (pronounced “Alice”). Besides having the most stunning baby powder white sand beach, the artchitecture here is the most inspiring and intelligent I have ever seen in a new development. We are hoping to buy a vacation home here. To see some beautiful photography, visit alysbeach.com.
*love that you can plug your ipod into the pool for underwater music

I stole this image off my friend Jen Thompson’s CF card…she doesn’t even know it. Good thing I am the high tech queen of the house~

I love the scenery here…a little bit of everything and nothing like where we live! I spent the day with a photographer friend here (Marla Carter) and this lake is right behind her gorgeous studio.

Later we headed back to Seaside for some snacks, chopping, and playing on the big lawn. This airstream is actually a juice bar!

And, here are 3/4 of our crew…chilling out after a long day of play.

This is such a beautiful place, I think I could stay here for much longer than a week! Come take a virtual visit with us at rosemarybeach.com.

We are here in Seaside…right in the Florida panhandle, only about 9 hours from home~
The beaches here are STUNNING, white talcum powder sand and quiet blue water. We have a house share with friends in a neighborhood of the cutest homes you have ever seen, right by the beach. Here’s a photo of the crew…all vacation pics will be with the new point & shoot.

I visited one of my favorite clients’ homes today…and was met with this beautiful scene, the amazing scent of preparing a meal for a huge family, and a whole lot of happy kids…and why not? Look at all these presents! Hope everyone is enjoying the season~

My idea of a vacation…breakfast by the pool, a balmy breeze off the ocean, 80 degree weather, and a stack of my favorite magazines. (Just a point and shoot camera!)

After three months of 12 hour days, 7 day weeks, and not much rest…the studio is officially closed for a well-deserved break! I will blog my personal doings over the next four weeks, because for some reason my clients are quite amused by our extra curricular activities!
I am very excited about my new point and shoot camera…we just returned from 3 days in Miami and I shot with it the whole time. This little Panasonic DMC-LX3 has a Leica lens and shoots RAW up to 10 megapixels! The quality is stunning…way better than a lot of prosumer cameras I have shot with. I will post more images from it over my vacation…stay tuned.

A couple of images from one of my all time favorite familes…I remember them when they only had one baby! This was my last session for the year, and now we will be working hard to make sure everyone receives their portraits in time for the holidays.
Next Friday, December 19th will be our last day in the studio before we close for winter vacation. We will reopen January 12th and are currently booking February sessions.
And, just so you know, I have not even had time to have my own family portraits shot yet… I think I will be sending New Year’s cards this year~
