the end of the road

I’m ending the summer blog feature with a few images from the edge of San Francisco, at Fort Point and a cave near the Sutro Baths. I cannot tell you how cold it feels here by the Pacific…I was simply frozen with numb fingers gripping my point & shoot. We had a fantastic six weeks...

an offering

I saw this altar at a Burmese restaurant after a wonderful lunch…how lovely is it? (Shot with the iPhone in some serious dark lighting.)

goooooooooooo Giants!

I’ll admit I was not super excited to go see the Giants; I am just not a  fan of sitting around watching sports for hours on end….*I* would rather be the one doing something! But, that said, watching the Giants play the Chicago Cubs was indeed a great day. I didn’t watch too much of...

simple pleasure: perfect pizza

Delfina is one of the yummiest restaurants in San Francisco and now they have a restaurant that is all about their fabulously creative pizzas: Pizzeria Delfina! I could eat these fresh locally grown salads, thin crust pizettes every day. The fresh strawberry-basil soda was the best soda I have ever had….deeeeeelish~

My hands literally froze while getting this shot of a...

first stop in San Francisco

Who would have guessed their first request was to go to the Seward Street Slides? These are the only 2 photos I was able to capture on the point and shoot cam without extreme sliding blur.

riding the rails

I only had time for shooting with the iPhone on the train from Portland to San Francisco. My boys had a great time dining, showering, and sleeping in their beds onboard. I think I would fly next time though…Amtrak is just not so much for me.

another outing

We spent some time at the historic Pittock Mansion, trying to imagine what life was like in the “olden days.”  It seems all the gardens in Oregon are completely bursting with flowers (and bumblebees too!) and the air just smells sooooooo good.
*still working with the point & shoot only, for over a month now!
